This allows access to the network from an external network. This can only be done using SSL Certificates which are allocated by the ClearOS Certificate Manager. SSL Certificates are the de-facto standard for encrypting information sent over a network and can also be used to provide authentication. They use the Public and Private key concept with 128bit encryption.

1  VPN Connection

There are three different types of connections. PPTP, IPSec and OpenVPN. The only one enabled is OpenVPN as it is more robust in getting through other firewalls and gateways. This requires the user certificate and server certificate to connect using a VPN.

When connected via OpenVPN it is as if the client is on the Tribology LAN even though it may be anywhere in the world physically.
